Spirit Of Place Photography
Photography as a Way back to Self
Thirty years on from a dark night of the soul, life looks different. This kaleidoscope of vignettes looks at llfe as experienced through exploration of photography, inner and outer worlds, meditation, world travel, dreams, channelling, healing, art, family history, philosophical musings and, of course, coffee and cake. This website is, like my life, still a work in progress but now has purpose and direction, a Way - back to Self.
Exploring the site
Awen, the flowing spirit of creativity symbolised in the site logo, is Welsh for 'inspiration' and its personification is the inspirational muse for creative artists, be they photographers, artists, poets, or embroiderers (other creative types are available). Spirit of place is the unique quality possessed of a place; embodied by its physical landscape, the stories (myths) and memories it holds and the feelings that it evokes - a multilayered tapestry whose threads intertwine and interconnect without boundaries. This website is the story of Awen's gift, a 'Song of the Earth', the universe singing in praise of itself as seen through my ‘lens’.
While all of the content is inextricably interconnected (dreams can lead to outer world experiences where meditation and channelling give insight) it can be easier to navigate through collections of groups with common themes as described below.
