The most obvious inner/outer worlds connections have manifested in my pursuit of self-knowledge through Family History. Until my epiphany I hadn’t realised how other generations could have any meaningful or direct influence on my life, how wrong could I be. My very nature, my dna, which is the hereditary source of genetic instructions to my system, has been handed down from them, so how could it be otherwise. Some quite profound insight has come via dreams, including one with my grandfather who I last saw alive when I was ten years old. And in responding to this inner coding, my outer world activity has been directed – not least in a visit to Ireland, the land of some relatively recent ancestors, in 2025. The pilgrimage gave me insight into their lives and times and some validation of family stories handed down through other branches of the family tree. Other more local travels, mini pilgrimages and channellings in the places my ancestors lived and died give me a sense of meaning in my experiences, a sense of place in the timeless stories of our lives, becoming an actor – not an extra - in the theatre and drama of lives across time and space; once more becoming the hero in my own life, not allowing others to occupy that role.
